Yoel Elizur is associate professor The Clinical Child & Educational Psychology Program at The Seymour Fox School of Education The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Former chairperson of Israel’s Council of Psychologists and consultant to the Minister of Health on policy and practice of psychology (2010-1013), he is a clinical, educational, and medical psychologist and certified supervisor. His major areas of teaching and research are systems-integrative psychotherapy, early intervention with behavior problems, family processes and developmental psychopathology. He is the developer and principle investigator of Hitkashrut’s parent and teacher training programs for preschoolers with behavior problems. The author of Institutionalizing madness: Families, therapy and society (with S. Minuchin, 1989), Holding their own: Self/Mutual Help, Therapy, and Society (2003), “The Blot of a Light Cloud”: Israeli Soldiers, Army, and Society in the Intifada (2012), Tommy Turtle’s Brainpower (2015), and Selective Mutism: A Guide for Parents, Teachers and Therapists (with R. Perednik, 2016).

פרופ' יואל אליצור התוכנית  לפסיכולוגיה חינוכית וקלינית של הילד ביה"ס לחינוך ע"ש שלמה (סימור) פוקס האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. פסיכולוג קליני חינוכי ורפואי מומחה-מדריך, כיהן בתפקיד יו"ר מועצת הפסיכולוגים ויועץ שר הבריאות בתחום הפסיכולוגיה (2010-2013). תחומי ההוראה והמחקר העיקריים שלו הם: פסיכותרפיה מערכתית-אינטגרטיבית, התערבות מוקדמת למניעת בעיות התנהגות וחיזוק יכולות של ויסות עצמי ופרו-חברתיות, תהליכים משפחתיים ופסיכופתולוגיה התפתחותית. המפתח והחוקר של תכניות התקשרו"ת להורים ומחנכים. מחברם של מיסוד השיגעון: משפחות, טיפול וחברה (עם סלוודור מנוחין, שוקן ,1992); תמונות חיים: סיפורם של מתמודדים (שוקן ואוניברסיטת חיפה, 2003); "כתם של עננה קלה": חיילים, צבא וחברה באינתיפאדה (הקיבוץ המאוחד, 2012), שיטת כוח המוח של צביקי (2015), אילמות סלקטיבית: מדריך להורים, מחנכים ומטפלים (עם רות פרדניק, אח ,2016).
