Adam Nir is Professor of Educational Administration Policy and Leadership and the Abraham Shiffman Chair in Secondary Education at the The Seymour Fox School of Education, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Israel. He is the former Chair of the Department of Education at the Hebrew University and the past President of the International Society for Educational Planning (ISEP). Dr. Nir's scholarship focuses on school autonomy decentralization and School-Based Management, educational planning, leadership and human resource management in public education. He is the editor of Centralization and school empowerment: From rhetoric to practice. Nova Science Publishers, New York (2009); The educational superintendent: Between trust and regulation: An international perspective. אדם ניר הוא פרופסור במנהל מדיניות ותכנון בחינוך. הוא עומד בראש הקתדרה ע"ש אברהם שיפמן לחינוך על יסודי באוניברסיטה העברית. הוא ראש החוג היוצא בבית הספר לחינוך ע"ש סימור פוקס וכן הנשיא היוצא של האגודה הבינלאומית לתכנון החינוך (The International Society for Educational Planning – ISEP). עיסוקו המחקרי מתמקד בעיקר בביזור אוטונומיה וניהול עצמי של בתי ספר, במנהיגות וניהול משאבי אנוש בחינוך ובמדיניות חינוך. בין פרסומיו האחרונים: ספר ערוך המסכם מחקר משוואה על תהליכי ביזור במערכות חינוך מרכוזיות שכותרתו Centralization and school empowerment: From rhetoric to practice (2009); ספר ערוך המסכם מחקר בינלאומי על מפקחים בחינוך שכותרתו: The educational superintendent: Between trust and regulation: An international perspective (2014) והספר "נשיאה באחריות בחינוך: בין גיבוש להתמוססות" שפורסם בהוצאת מכון ון ליר והקיבוץ המאוחד (2014).
