What specializations can I apply for when I graduate this concentration?

When you graduate with a master’s degree, you may apply for a specialization in adult or child clinical psychology and in educational psychology. These specializations may be taken together.

Is there a fast track postgraduate path and how do I apply?

We offer a direct-track PhD program (direct entry to postgraduate program) to students who excel in research and envision their professional future in the academic world. Admission to the direct track opens at the end of your first year and is based on your academic and research functioning, your statement of intent, personal experience, and references from the faculty. If you are interested in this track, please contact prof. Nilly Mor.

Am I required to complete my thesis while I am in the program?

It is important and also preferable to complete your thesis while you are still studying in the program. If you do no complete your thesis requirements by the end of the master’s program you will have to re-register for a thesis. This means that for every year in which you continue to be supervised in your research you will be charged an overhead fee of 10% of annual tuition.

Does this concentration have a specific theoretical emphasis?

This concentration supports theoretical pluralism. This means that we do not emphasize any particular approach but rather attempt to teach our students tools of different theoretical approaches. Accordingly, over the course of your studies you will learn about therapy theories and approaches in various disciplines: dynamic classical and modern theories, behavioral cognitive theories, family intervention, and educational intervention.

Can I work while I am studying?

You can hold a job but keep in mind that course load in this program is heavy both in number of days and in academic requirements. In practice, some students are able to combine this program with a job. Our field work sites are informed of the days students have classes and allow students to schedule field work on other days. Field work days are usually flexible but in some cases the choice is limited to specific days. For example, if a student is required to attend on days when the training psychologist is present.

Is there a field work site outside Jerusalem?

There are field work sites in the Jerusalem area for example: in Beit Shemesh, Modiin, Mevaseret Zion, and Maaleh Adumin. You may also apply for field work outside the Jerusalem area, and we will make every effort to comply. Our concentration collaborates with field work sites in the center and in the north of Israel.
