Cognition and Contextual Aspects in Educational Administration

Dr. Rima'a Da'as

My main research focuses on the effects of cultural and contextual aspects on principals' perceptions and actions, including challenges faced, and actions performed during crises. In addition, I investigate leaders’ cognitive complexity and cognitive aspects of educational administration research.

I am currently engaged in two main studies. The first is on the impact of personal and contextual characteristics on principals' and teachers' cognitive complexity, innovation behavior and flexible thinking, and their effects on school processes and outcomes. The second is related to the development of a new theoretical framework - "leadership for society" - related to Arab school principals (in collaboration with Prof. Chen Schechter).
