ד"ר סמירה עליאן היא מרצה וחוקרת בבית הספר לחינוך ע"ש שלמה (סימור) פוקס ובמחלקה לתעודת ההוראה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. ד"ר עליאן אחראית על הקבלה והריכוז תחום החברה בתעודת הוראה במחלקה ללימודי הוראה באוניברסיטה. מחקרה והוראתה מתמקדים בחינוך השוואתי; ניתוח תוכניות וספרי לימוד במדיניות של קונפליקט ומלחמות; למידה והוראה המשפיעים באופן משמעותי על מורים ותלמידים; השכלה גבוה והשפעתה על נשים פלסטיניות; ובחינוך הערבי בישראל ובמזרח ירושלים בפרט הוא התחום המרכזי של מחקרה בשנים האחרונות. ד"ר עליאן מובילה בהערכת פרויקטים ומחקרים ובחינת התאמתם לחינוך במזרח ירושלים בשיתוף פעולה עם מכונים מחקריים שונים בארץ וזאת בעקבות התחלת יישומה של תוכנית "החומש" שהושקה בשנת 2018 במזרח ירושלים.

Dr. Samira Alayan is a lecturer and researcher at the Seymour Fox School of Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Alayan is responsible for the admission and concentration in the social field of teacher education at the Department of Teacher Training at the Hebrew University of JerusalemHer research and teaching focus on comparative education, analysis of curriculum and textbooks in policy of conflict and wars, learning and teaching that significantly impact teachers and students; higher education and its impact on Palestinian women; as well as Arab education in Israel and in East Jerusalem in particular, which has been the main field of her research in recent years. Dr. Alayan leads the evaluation of projects and research, and their adaptation to education in East Jerusalem, in collaboration with various research institutions in Israel, while following the implementation of theFive Yearsprogram that was launched in 2018 in East Jerusalem.
