International Post-Doctoral Researchers
A postdoc is the next step on the academic career path after earning a PhD. A postdoc is a temporary position that allows a PhD to continue their training as a researcher and gain skills and experience that will prepare them for their academic career. A postdoc is a researcher who works under the supervision of a senior faculty who serves as a mentor while conducting research, either on a pre-specified project or one of their own design and publish that research. At the same time, a postdoc prepares young researchers, so they can also take on senior responsibilities like mentoring, grant writing, and teaching.
In order to enroll in a post-doctoral program at the Hebrew University an applicant should hold a doctorate degree (PhD), which is awarded no earlier than five years before starting the post-doctoral program.
The period of a post-doctoral program does not exceed 4 years. It is not possible to register as a post-doctoral researcher after 4 years of participation in a post-doctoral program, unless one receives the approval of Hebrew University Management.
Post-doctoral researchers who wish to apply for an additional year of participation in a post-doctoral program (also those who have not exceeded the 4 year period) are required to complete and submit the post-doctoral registration form at the start of each academic year.
In order to register as a post-doctoral researcher in the Hebrew University system, we request the following documents:
