Program structure
This concentration is a two-year program. Courses are scheduled on Wednesdays. Usually, all compulsory courses are scheduled on Wednesday, as are most of the elective courses in this concentration. Our curriculum is designed to train learning and teaching experts and researchers. Early in your first year, you will choose your thesis preference (thesis or non-thesis) and in your second year you will officially join one of the two tracks:
Thesis track
The thesis track is designed for students interested in learning about and participating in the research of learning and teaching. As part of writing their thesis, students of the research track will be given personal mentoring and will be offered an opportunity to participate in ongoing research conducted by the faculty in the concentration. Final approval to advance to the thesis track will be given early in your second year.
Requirements for advancing to the thesis track
First-year minimum average grade of 85, thesis proposal seminar, and thesis proposal submitted before starting the second year.
Non-thesis track
This track is designed for students interested in training and expanding their knowledge in innovative pedagogical approaches and in current findings in research, and in refining themselves as educators. Final approval to advance to the non-thesis track is also given early in your second year.
