About the program

The Jewish educational philosophy track is designed for holders of an honors bachelor degree in Jewish thought and Judaic studies who aspire to lead changes in Jewish education and perceptions, and delve into the links between Jewish philosophy and current questions of principle and practice in Jewish identity and education.

  • This track includes courses in the Jewish education concentration and in pertinent departments in the Humanities.
  • Graduates of this program will be granted a master’s degree in education in the Jewish education concentration and a Melton fellowship certificate.
  • This program offers unique academic, cultural, and social activities.
  • Studies take place once a week on Wednesdays and the program runs for two years.
  • Participants are eligible for a scholarship covering 50% of tuition.

The program welcomes honors students with a background in Jewish philosophy or in Jewish educational activity, with a minimum average grade of 85. Suitable candidates will be invited for a personal interview with the heads of the program.

Students admitted in their second year to the thesis track may select an additional course outside the department in coordination and with the approval of a supervisor or academic counselor.

Guidelines and criteria for transferring to a thesis track

  • A minimum grade of 85 at the end of your first year and having written a seminar paper in your concentration
  • A minimum average grade of 85 for 18 credits
  • Finding a supervisor
  • Transfer form filled by the student and signed by the supervisor
